Sarvaha Campus Recruitment, BATU Lonere

Guidelines for the campus drive.

Welcome to Sarvaha Campus Recruitment 2024!

The campus drive would be conducted in your college labs using a browser based tool. Please gather at your college lab on or before 9am on Thursday 5th September 2024. The different interview stages are indicated below. After each stage, there will be shortlisting of students. Only the short-listed students are eligible for the subsequent rounds.

How to prepare

The assessment would test your knowledge of basics of computer science: data structures and algorithms, fundamentals of programming such as OS, OOPs, Databases and general aptitude. One part of the test may be multi-choice question (MCQ) based and one or more parts of the test will require you to write programs in a programming language of your choice. We expect you to be able to solve the programming problems using either of the following languages: C, C++, Python3 or Java.

Assessment Platform & Tools

The test will be conducted in your college lab using your personal laptops. The assessments will be carried out through an online tool accessible via an Internet browser, which utilizes the laptop’s video camera. We recommend using a full-screen computer as the test will not function on mobile devices. Any instance of plagiarism will result in immediate disqualification, even if detected post-selection. Mobile phones are not permitted in the lab; please ensure they are kept away.

We’ll use a Whatsapp group created by your T&P office to co-ordinate the drive. Please ensure you set a proper name in your Whatsapp profile. The test links will be sent via your college email address (or the ones provided to us by your T&P office) to only the short-listed candidates at each stage. If your email access requires MFA code, please ensure you have logged into the email before entering the lab. We won’t allow accessing mobile phones once you’re in the lab. Access to your email during the test is important. Please check your spam folders in case you do not receive the link. The online tool monitors for switching between the browser or tab windows. It also monitors your keystrokes, hence please do NOT copy paste the code. Please ensure that all kinds of pop-ups (anti-virus tools, ad blockers or any such full-screen popups) are disabled. We will NOT give you another test if the tool ends your test due to off-tab behavior. Please talk to our representative to seek help only when really required. For interviews, please install Zoom on your laptop computer.

Checklist

  • Disable all kinds of pop-ups.
  • Set your laptop clock properly, preferably to use NTP and synchronized with NIST Time server.
  • Have access to your email before you enter the lab.
  • Carry pen and paper for rough-work and trying out your ideas before you write code.
  • Keep your mobile phones outside the lab. We’ll discontinue your tests if your phones are found inside the lab.
  • Close all the unnecessary tabs in the browser and close other apps. We may discontinue your tests if we find unnecessary apps running during the tests. No arguments will be entertained, even if the apps that you run are harmless.
  • Keep yourself well-fed and carry water bottles as these tests go on for about an hour.
  • Please stick to the honor-code and do not indulge in cheating or helping others. This is part of professional ethics.
  • Please be patient. We are trying to make it as smooth as possible. Our teams are there to help and treat everyone fairly.
  • Please do NOT take screenshots. This may log you off from the test.
  • Choose your compiler before you write code. You’ll waste time writing code and you won’t be able to copy paste if you change the compiler.

DON’Ts

Please do not call us. Interact with us via the Whatsapp group. Please do not request for retest or argue with our teams. We can not address individual concerns when we are dealing with large number of students. If you have a genuine concern, a better way to resolve is to reach us after the campus drive. We hire deserving candidates even after the drive via off-campus tests and interviews. But please do not disturb us during the drive. Please do not make excuses for delays, no-shows or internet issues. Remember, if you get selected you will be working with us as colleagues and first impressions matter.

FAQs

  • Test link won’t open for you: Your laptop/Desktop clock is not set correctly.
  • Your camera won’t open: Use the latest Chrome browser and ensure permissions to use camera and microphone are given.
  • Your assessment was stopped: You switched away from the browser to another app. If you do it twice, your assessment will stop. So, please disable all the pop-up full screen notifications such as anti-virus notifications etc. We will not be able to help you with one more chance.
  • Your internet went down: Do not try to refresh, it’ll lose all your work. Once the internet comes back, try to submit. Please keep a backup internet connection ready (mobile data or hotspot).
  • You lost your program when accidentally trying to switch the compiler: The assessment platform warns you when switching the compiler. Choose your compiler carefully before you start writing your code.
  • Your program won’t run: Please check if your program is going into an infinite loop. Use print statements if required to debug.
